Ghana Advances with a Little Help From Match Analysis

NUREMBERG, Germany - Ghana's 2-1 victory over the United States which advanced them into the Round of 16 came with a little help from Match Analysis. In their preparations for the 2006 World Cup, Ghana's American scouting contingent called on Match Analysis to give them the inside scoop on the US squad and a better look at their own team.

Drawn into one of the most difficult groups, Ghana faced an uphill battle in its first World Cup appearance and was considered a long shot to advance out of group play. But with a dominating 2-0 victory over favorite Czech Republic, Ghana positioned itself to do the impossible.

After the win over Czech Republic, Dujkovic highlighted the importance of their scouting "We have to calm down and keep our feet on the ground. We will have a meeting with our scouts who have been spying on the United States team to analyse them and based on their information, we will prepare our strategy."

Chief among those spies was Robert Sackey, a Ghana native and US based soccer coach who spent the weeks leading up to the World Cup camped out in Match Analysis's offices preparing a comprehensive report on the American side.
